Ananke Market Close Recap — Wed Oct 21
The AI chain carried Wednesday's close: the S&P 500 finished up 0.58% at 7,757, the Nasdaq up 1.05%, the Dow up 0.69%.
Super Micro raised its Q3 revenue guidance to $18.5–19.5B from $14.5–15.5B — semiconductors stayed bid all day, with $SOXL$ up 5.9%. SpaceX revenue hit $14.6B, up 161% YoY and ahead of the $12.72B estimate, and merger committees from both its board and $TSLA$'s lifted Tesla 3%+.
Ananke's read: the regime holds Recovery Long Bias (light). The $SOXL$ long from Oct 19 at $100.46 is up 3.27% on the chip bid, the $USO$ long from Oct 1 is up 8.63% with crude near $100–111 on the Hormuz attacks, while the $SPY$, $TQQQ$ and $GDX$ legs sit flat — no open positions. On style, the model still calls value small-caps leading ($IWM$ over $QQQ$, VALUE_STRONG since Oct 8) — but today's tape ran the other way again, with $QQQ$ +1.05% vs $IWM$ +0.25% on the AI headlines.
After the bell comes the week's main event: $META$ (call 4:30 ET) and $TSLA$ (webcast 5:30 ET) report tonight, with $IBM$, Lam Research and TI printing too — and the bar is guidance, not EPS. Netflix fell 6% Tuesday on a soft outlook, and beat-and-fell names keep piling up this week.
After tonight's prints: A) earnings extend the AI-chain rally into Thursday, or B) cautious guidance pulls the market back — which side are you on?
