This Morning the Regime Flipped to Strong Short — and Every Equity Model Was Already Flat

At 12:39 p.m. ET today, the S&P 500 is down 3.68%, the Nasdaq Composite is down 4.87%, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is down 10.09%. The AI trade that led the year is being unwound in a single session, one day after the Dow’s best rally since April 2025.

Here is what Ananke’s models showed, and when they showed it. This morning’s 9:00 a.m. ET pre-market snapshot still carried a Neutral long-term regime, with no open position in any of the four equity trend models. By the late-morning snapshot, the regime had flipped to Strong Short. The models did not chase yesterday’s 1,569-point Dow rally, and they held no equity exposure into today’s decline. The only open trend position is an oil long, and the market-style gauge has favored value small-caps over growth large-caps since October 8 — the side of today’s tape that has fallen least.

That is what Wall Street Tea House publishes, every trading day: a pre-market edition (9:00 a.m. ET), a midday edition (12:21 p.m. ET), and a close edition (4:01 p.m. ET). State changes — a new signal, a close, a regime flip, a style switch — are flagged in the edition of the session in which they occur, with the data cutoff printed on the report and a methodology note attached. No predictions, no stock picks, no retroactive edits: the models’ readings, the verified news around them, and the divergences between the two.

If you read today’s move through headlines alone, you saw a crash. If you follow the model state, you saw a regime change with a timestamp on it. Subscribe — it is free — and the next flip lands in your inbox in the session it happens. And if you know a trader who spent today asking what to do, forward this to them. The more useful question is what state the market is in.

Intraday quick takes also post to our moomoo community account, and the full charted analysis runs first in our paid ZSXQ community.
